The Reaching Children's Potential Program (RCP) is a child-focused, parent directed program that begins during pregnancy and follows a child through their 18th birthday. Global Volunteers' RCP Program is serving nearly 550 families in 5 neighboring villages in the Ukwega Ward. Trained health care providers volunteer alongside medical staff at the Ipalamwa General Clinic and host educational workshops on important topics such as nutrition, infectious disease, vaccines and mental health. Volunteers also help teach English in the primary and secondary schools, engage with young children in the preschools, provide instruction to the women's cooperative on sewing and knitting techniques, accompany staff on weekly home visits and help plant and distribute the EarthBox container gardens and Rise Against Hunger Meals to families.
